I have had a comfortable life growing up. My parents took good care of me.  Besides getting divorced they have been there for me financially and otherwise. 

I have been given a good education and have a good job.  I went to school for my field and got a job in it.  But, I'm not happy with my career as an environmental consultant. 

I have always enjoyed surfing and have traveled to several locations around the world to surf and fish.  Recently I bought a house and no longer have the time or money to continue this part of my life. 

I have been working hard to become a sober member of society and so far have been able to stick the program.  I am working on becoming happy.  I want to enjoy my relationships, house, career and life.

It makes no sense that I am unhappy. I have a job that sustains me, I have traveled quite a bit.   I have a house, and I have Friends.  I have come to a point where I have been able to stop the using substaces to mask my feelings and am slowly getting back to the things that matter.       

Well that is my old story!  Since starting Tools and working a recovery program, I am doing better.  I don't drink or use anything else, I'm getting up on time, and Im getting active again. 

I grew up in Freehold, New Jersey as child and moved to a shore town when my parents got divorced.  I was 12.  I graduated from Highschool and went on to a County College and then Graduated from Rutgers in 1998.  I did not do exceptionally well in Highschool but turned it on in college and graduated with around a 3.25. 

I started surfing around 13 and was not very good at first.  I kept on trying and finally got good enough to start traveling to surf.  I have been to alot of places since then and and happy I stuck with it.  It took me places I did not realize I would ever see!  It is one of the things I am most proud of.  I am afraid of losing the physical ability to continue the one thing in life that I truly enjoy.

I started experimenting with drugs and alcohol in highschool and didnt stop until i was 35.  I am currently an active member of a recovery program that works!  I am continuing on a healthy path and work to stay positive and help others to find recovery.  I want to grow and learn about myself and life and find the things I need to continue to get better. 

As far as my future goes.  I just want want to be happy!  I want to get up in the morning (early or at least on time) feeling good and ready to get out there, get to work, or do activities on down time.  I want to surf. I want to succeed in a career that makes me happy and comfortable financially.  I don't need to make a ton of money but enough to do what I want when I want. 

I want to be happy in my relationships and with myself.
