I'm on my own

I have now lost my last parent. I have always been a very independant person, I love my family and never thought in a million years I would be the kind of person that needed self help to become motivated again after all of the deaths. After losing my brother, mother, father, paternal grandmother, paternal grandfather, maternal grandfather, and now my maternal grandmother I realize that life is too short, if I don't stick to a plan for my life it just slips away. My accomplishments are, I believe what make life exciting what I understand now is that the accomplishment doesn't need to be big to feel the excitement,  I need to have the excitement again. It is strange but I have been getting up every morning for the last 2 weeks at the same time and what a difference it has made I feel accoomplished. I just started this post today and I believe that when I get up and clap my hands and tell myself I'm having a great day, and the day is mine it will be.

You are not on your own..

Welcome to Tools, you are not alone here...

TTL has a fantastic support community and i'm sure you will find people here, who will understand how you feel.... I can only try to 'imagine' how hard it must be, to lose so many people who were close to you, as i have never lost anyone i was really close to ...

I don't know what your beliefs are, but no matter what they are, you can be sure that your family will still be rooting for you, supporting you and loving and caring for you, even if they are no longer 'physically' here with you....

You're right even small accomplishments, will make you feel good and Devlyn is fantastic at helping you to achieve something small every day. All of those small accomplishments, then accumulate to make big changes. When you look back at the end of each week you will see the difference and its a good feeling ...

Yes!

You are here, and you have just started to Live!  You may not realize it yet.  But, as you journey through ttl, you will find that each day is a little bit better.  Each day is more that the one before.  And, life regardless of people moving on, is full of life and fool of living.  I have lost everyone but my  mother, and in many ways, she too is lost.  I have also lost, a son (baby - through murder)  and two other children.  You will grow and you will move beyond it if you chose too.  The fact that you're in ttl is proof enough that you want to.  The program is far more than self help.  It will help you move from the cocoon  that you are in, to the the brand new butterfly that you are meant to be.  So welcome!  Welcome to what is truly the first day of the rest of your life!

fellow orphan

I was sad when my father died in 1994.  I lost my mother in 1975.  It's hard.  I'm glad you're here at TTL.  May you find a supporting community here.

Deep Blow, Right Place

I think that to acknowledge this has been a deep and repeated loss and therefore you seek some motivation, community and support is a huge step. So is telling us about it, because then we can begin to share in your struggles and your achievements.

There's a Memorial Garden support group, if you ever want to post a memorial to anyone who is ill or has passed away. I find it a comfort.

I too believe you will find friends, good ideas, compassion and the life you want, within Tools.

We're here for you!

You are not alone

Yes, many of us are orphans and many more will become so in time.  Keep the memories close and trust that you have the best parts of both parents within so they are never too far away.  Glad you are here on tools.

I'm on my own now

Thank all of you for your support! I appreciate the show of love. I'm so happy that I am here, at the right place, at the right time. I will continue in tools daily, and pray that my time here will continue to be as wonderful as this first day. Again, I thank each of you for your responses, and send you love and wishes for continued growth, wisdom, and great successes!
